Enrollment Policies Summary

Enrollment is not first-come-first serve, but based on best fit, taking into consideration each child’s needs, schedule, ratios and available openings. All required documents must be submitted prior to a child’s first day. A minimum 30-day notice is required for any schedule changes or withdrawal. 

We are a well-care facility. Children who are ill (fever of 100°F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) must stay home and may not return until symptom-free for 48 hours without medication.  All children must be current on immunizations as required by California law. 

Only authorized individuals listed on the enrollment form may pick up your child. Valid photo ID is required. Late pick-up fees apply after 4:30 PM. Please notify us if someone other than the usual authorized person will be picking up. 

Tuition is due on the first of each month. A late fee applies for payments received after the 1st. Tuition is charged based on enrollment (47 weeks), not attendance — no credits for sick days or vacations. We accept checks, cash, and electronic payments via ProCare, Venmo, and Apple Pay. Various third party subsidies are also accepted (4Cs, River to Coast, and similar). 

Rise and Shine closes for 5 weeks per year: New Year's Week, Spring Break, Summer Break, Thanksgiving Week, and Christmas Week. Specific closure dates vary year to year and will be communicated to families in advance. Families are not charged for these closures.

We provide daily activity reports for each child. Parents can reach us via phone, email, or our parent communication app. We hold parent-teacher conferences twice a year and welcome ongoing communication about your child's development. 

We use positive guidance and redirection techniques appropriate for infants and toddlers. Physical punishment is never used. Our approach focuses on helping children develop self-regulation skills in a supportive environment.
