Our Philosophy
At Rise and Shine, we believe that young children learn best through meaningful relationships, rich language experiences, and engaging storytelling.
We believe that stories are powerful tools that help infants and toddlers:
- Make sense of their world
- Build early language and communication skills
- Develop social-emotional understanding
- Experience joy, connection, and belonging
At the heart of our program is our proprietary story series,
The Adventures of McDuff and Friends:
These stories are thoughtfully created for our children and are not simply read—they are experienced through daily interactions, routines, and play.
Through familiar characters like McDuff, Scruffy, Molly, Duncan, and Pembrooke, children are gently introduced to themes of kindness, friendship, patience, and problem-solving in ways that meet them exactly where they are developmentally.
To further enrich these experiences, teachers incorporate supportive tools—such as our custom puppets and songs—to help bring familiar characters to life and deepen children’s connection to the stories.
