She was enrolled in our program at the time of the TUBBS fires, which devestated a large portion of our community.

Rise and Shine Child Care Centers & Family Services Agency began as Rich Family Day Care Home in October 1990. In 1992 Rich Family Day Care expanded to a large family day care home that included a full preschool program and a K-12 home-school program known as Paideia Educational Heritage.
In 2017, our community was devastated by a county-wide firestorm and Rich Family Day Care Home burned down. No longer able to operate as before a six-month, temporary waiver was issued to operate in the home of another licensed provider. With that waiver expiration coming to an end Rich Family Day Care was presented with an opportunity to open anew as a child care center.
April 2, 2018, we announced our new name. Rich Family Day Care became Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center, serving families with infants 2-24 months.
Throughout this process, we wanted to honor our community, and our challenges, as well as emphasize our determination to not let our recent hardship hold us back.
The driving focus, when choosing to name our program, was to honor our community, and healing and to emphasize our determination and perseverance to overcome hardship.
In the Spring of 2018, Santa Rosa Rise and Shine was awarded a facility grant from First 5 Sonoma County. It would take an additional two years to secure a permanent facility.
In 2020, in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, known as COVID-19, Santa Rosa Rise and Shine opened its first permanent center on the campus of Santa Rosa Nazarene Church and Happy Time Preschool.
Two years later, in October 2022, Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center opened its second center in the Junior College District.
In early 2023, Santa Rosa Rise and Shine Child Care Center became Rise and Shine Child Care Centers & Family Services Agency. We can offer eligible families low or no-cost payment assistance to offset their childcare needs in these tough economic times and provide other necessary resources when needed.
For 34 years we have supported families with a quality program format that provides stability and structure for children to thrive. We are committed to our community by providing high standards that will keep children safe & healthy. We will continue to work closely with all of the resources available to provide our community with access to a quality program that serves families with infants, aged 2-24 months.
