Our mission is to create safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environments where infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are known, loved, and supported as they learn, grow, and thrive. We believe every child deserves responsive, relationship-based care and engaging learning experiences thoughtfully designed to support each stage of early childhood development, from infancy through the preschool years. By encouraging our community to donate infant supplies, we can enhance the quality infant care available and better support Sonoma County families in need.

After voluntarily relinquishing our state contract, Rise and Shine transitioned to a private-pay model while continuing to accept third-party payments through programs such as 4Cs, RCCS, and other family-support agencies. This transition has allowed us to keep providing quality infant care to Sonoma County families, even as we face rising operational costs. 

Although serving these families remains our priority, early childhood care, particularly for infants and toddlers, is costly. Infants and toddlers require increased staffing, supervision, training, and individualized attention, which contributes to expenses. 

At Rise and Shine, we maintain intentionally low teacher-to-child ratios of 1:3 for infants, 1:4 for toddlers, and 1:8 for preschoolers. These ratios enable our teachers to offer responsive care, meaningful interactions, individualized support, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences at every stage. We also strive to provide competitive wages and benefits to retain qualified, compassionate, and highly trained early childhood educators. 

As costs for staffing, rent, insurance, utilities, food, classroom materials, safety training, and daily operations continue to rise, families often bear much of that financial burden. We encourage our community to support Sonoma County families by donating infant supplies or contributing in other ways. Your support helps us make high-quality care more accessible while we continue to provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environments for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers throughout Sonoma County.

Infant, toddler, and preschool classroom materials that support quality infant care are essential. We create developmentally appropriate learning stations and safe, beautiful, well-equipped care environments to foster growth. Our teacher training and staff development include CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace safety training. We are committed to continued access to infant-only care in Sonoma County, allowing us to better support Sonoma County families. 

Unless otherwise specified by the donor, donations will be directed to the Rise and Shine location with the greatest need, helping us to donate infant supplies where they're most needed.

Rise and Shine has partnered with Josiah Rich Ministries, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 68-0411120, to receive charitable donations in support of our mission to provide quality infant care and family assistance. We invite you to donate infant supplies to help us in this vital endeavor.
